Thirty-seven years after Bob Lazar stunned the UFO world and inadvertently put Area 51 on the map, his controversial claims are once again reverberating around the planet. Canadian businessman Luigi Venditelli dug into the Lazar saga during the COVID shutdown and was inspired to create a die-cast version of a UFO craft that Lazar had nicknamed “the Sport Model.” That concept morphed into the creation of a virtual reality re-creation of S4, the secret facility where Lazar said he worked back in the late ’80s. The VR project was expanded into a full documentary, one that carefully duplicates the desert hangars where Lazar said he saw nine otherworldly craft undergoing a reverse-engineering process to figure out how they worked.
Imagine trying to accurately depict Xanadu, Camelot, or Atlantis, places that may or may not have existed, based on suppressed memories inside the head of one guy who last visited the site nearly four decades earlier. Venditelli’s film, S4: The Bob Lazar Story, debuted just days ago but blasted to the top of the charts almost immediately. Lazar’s story also rekindled a predictable onslaught of vehement criticism, character attacks, and the rehashing of intimate details about his personal life. Love it or loathe it, S4 is a runaway hit.
